Welcome, weebs and authors alike, to The Aniwriter
Here is my poem for day two of the 30 Day Anime Challenge, titled Gated
It is quite disturbing just how people in the world like to fracture.
At first, we started as a human race roaming the earth.
Soon after we formed nation-states, groups of people we considered similar.
War soon became a tool used to separate people from their own power,
and the conquerors were rewarded with the stolen resources of others.
Rebellion followed, violence begetting violence, blood flowing the rivers people
relied on for transportation and survival.
Technology only served to divide people along class lines,
making the rich richer and the poor suffer.
Even America’s modern neighborhoods have very few shades of gray,
with many lines being drawn between white and black.
